Consignment

We sell it. You set the floor.

You keep ownership until the watch sells at a price you approved in writing. We handle authentication, photography, the dealer shop on 47th Street, the negotiation, and the paperwork — and we are paid only out of a completed sale.

The honest comparison

Consignment isn't always the right answer.

It costs you time in exchange for price. Here is the trade, laid out the way we would explain it on the phone.

Fastest

Outright offer

We or a district dealer buy it today. A wholesale number, wired within 24–48 hours. Right when you need certainty, a deadline, or simply don't want to think about it again.

You give up: most of the spread.

Best net, usually

Consignment

We work it for 30–90 days against a reserve you set, shopping it to collectors and competing dealers. You are paid the sale price minus the published fee.

You give up: speed and certainty.

Situational

Keep it

If the market for your reference is soft this quarter, or service would cost more than it returns, the correct advice is to wait. We will give it, and it costs you nothing to hear.

You give up: nothing.

Fee schedule

What we charge, published in advance.

Final sale priceFeeExample: what you net
Under $10,00020%A $6,000 sale nets you $4,800
$10,000 – $49,99915%A $24,000 sale nets you $20,400
$50,000 – $149,99912%A $80,000 sale nets you $70,400
$150,000 and above10%A $200,000 sale nets you $180,000

Examples are arithmetic, not predictions. Tier is determined by the actual sale price. No listing fee, no photography fee, no authentication fee, no fee at all if the watch does not sell. Third-party costs are quoted and approved by you before they are incurred.

Intake

What we take on.

Mechanical watches with genuine secondary-market demand. As a rule, pieces with an expected sale price above $1,500 — below that, the fee stops working in your favor and we will tell you so rather than take the listing.

Full collections, estates, and inherited pieces are welcome and are quoted as a package. If you are an executor or a beneficiary working through an estate, say so in the form and we will handle the documentation side accordingly.

  • Rolex and Tudor — modern and vintage
  • Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin
  • Omega, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Breitling, Zenith
  • Vintage chronographs and military-issue pieces
  • Grand Seiko, A. Lange & Söhne, and independents
  • Complete collections and estate lots

Not on the list? Ask anyway. If we can't sell it well, we will usually know who can.

Step one

Submit your watch

Two business days to a written market range, a recommended reserve, and your fee tier. No obligation, and nothing ships until you say so.

We reply to every submission within two business days. Photos: reply to our email with dial, caseback, clasp, and movement if you have it. We do not share your information with anyone outside the sale, and we do not sell contact lists.

The agreement, in plain language

What you are agreeing to

  • You keep title. Ownership stays with you until the watch sells. Consignment is not a sale to us.
  • Reserve is yours. Written, approved by you, and never breached without your written consent.
  • 90-day term. Renewable by agreement. You may withdraw at any time with written notice and no penalty; we return the watch insured at our cost.
  • Fee only on sale. Taken from the sale proceeds at settlement, per the published tier. Nothing owed otherwise.
  • Insured throughout. In transit both directions and while in our custody, at the value stated in your agreement.
  • Full disclosure. Everything we find is disclosed to you and then to the buyer. No exceptions.
  • Payout in three business days after funds clear, with an itemized statement showing gross, fee, any approved costs, and net.

This is a summary for orientation. The signed consignment agreement is the controlling document, and you receive it in full before anything ships. Read it; ask about anything in it.

Rather just talk it through?

Some watches need a conversation before a form. Send a note and we will call you.
